WHAT THE HECK IS THIS REALLY
The Adult Recess Club™ by ATHEON™ is a twist on a classic: An Adult Coed Rec Sports League. Teams battle it out in 16 different events (8 sports + 8 games) over 7 weeks that are uniquely crafted to challenge and exercise every part of you.
WARNING: This adventure contains the absolute maximum level of fun a human being can handle over a period of 17.5 hours.
It’s also where you will reach your peak all-around optimal health and the omni fountain of youth.
Making new friends is almost a guarantee. As will you most certainly gain knowledge, inspiration, and have a wildly good time. You might even forget you’re an adult for a lil while.
But maybe even more importantly is that you get a much needed break from your modern stressful adult life. Which thanks to our phones, Social Media, AI, and whatever else comes next, is becoming more and more increasingly valuable.

SCHEDULE
7 WEEKS - 16 EVENTS
Every week (on the day of the season you selected) for 7 consecutive weeks we will gather together as a group of awkward adults in an abandoned park and leave it with electric energy as reborn again kids ready to take on adult life once again.
WEEK 1
DODGEBALL
[SPORT]
Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and Dodge. It's ok if you never saw the flick. But you and your team will need to dodge or catch your way to victory.
TRRRIVIA!
[GAME]
Teams battle it out in 3 rounds to see who knows the most about random facts that shape our world and entertain us.
WEEK 2
KICKBALL
[SPORT]
Kick It. Run It. Catch It. Hit It. You know it. You love it. Teams sweat it out on the dirt and grass to see who is king of the giant rubber ball?
PUZZLE ME NUTS
[GAME]
Played similar to trivia, but in this case you and your team have to solve a variety of puzzles over 3 rounds.
WEEK 3
ROUNDERS (SOFTBALL)
[SPORT]
The original Ball & Bat sport. Not familiar? Think Softball, but no gloves or a pitcher. The ball is soft and the bat is smaller.
BILLIARDS
[SPORT]
We take a break, no pun intended this week from typical games played at a bar/restaurant for a classic game of solids & stripes Just like the sports, we will play a multi-game tournament with each team consisting of multiple doubles partners.
WEEK 4
RUNNING CHESS
[SPORT]
One of many unique games we created. It fuses a Running Relay with Chess. You and your team will need both physical and mental quickness to pull off this victory.
ALMOST FAMILY FEUD
[GAME]
Our version of the laugh out loud hair pulling game Family Feud (teams try to guess the most popular answer), except we’re not family, yet. So “Almost Family Feud”.
WEEK 5
ULTIMATE FRISBEE
[SPORT]
In case if you are not familiar with this popular Bay Area sport, think of it like soccer but the ball is replaced with a frisbee and instead of kicking you are throwing and catching the disc to hopefully score more points than your opponent.
THE MYSTERY BUS
[GAME]
Who did it? With What? And Where? Teams race to find the suspects, clues, and be the first to solve the crime.
WEEK 6
SOCCER
[SPORT]
Here’s hoping we can save our fingers typing up this one. If you don’t know what/how to play Fútbol aka Soccer, probably best to sit this one out.
MATCH GAME
[GAME]
Hasn't been on tv in decades, but it's worth a re-run. Teams have to try to predict each other’s answers to hilarious scenarios.
WEEK 7
LAWN TARGET RELAY
[SPORT]
Another of our creations. This relay race combines several different target 'lawn' games that is great for the whole team.
TIGER TANK
[GAME]
Just like Shark Tank (TV show), but we’re the ‘TIGERS’ judging your 'Product Pitch’. At the start of the season teams are given the topic and have 6 weeks to prepare for the pitch of their lives.
BAKE OFF
[GAME]
If we're gonna have a party, we need snacks. Just like above teams are given the ‘Bake Off' rules and will have 6 weeks to prep & make, with everyone acting as judges.
PARTY
At the end of each season victors are awarded, bragging rights served, snacks are eaten, and everyone has a good time celebrating at least a few hours offline with no AI or other adulting things.
SCHEDULE
7 WEEKS - 14 GAMES
Every Tuesday evening for 7 consecutive weeks we will gather together as a group of awkward adults in an abandoned park and leave it with electric energy as reborn again kids ready to take on adult life once again.
WEEK 1
OMNI BOCCE
[SPORT]
It's a unique game we invented that fuses several aspects of "lawn sports' together. Super fun that requires aim, strategy, and team work.
JEOPARODY
[GAME]
You can never go wrong with a game of Jeopardy to test you and your team's knowledge. But our version "JEOPARODY" is less serious and more fun.
WEEK 2
BASKETBALL
[SPORT]
The balls in your court. Teams play against each other in a mini Basketball tournament. General rules apply as a common Basketball game.
TEAM FEUD
[GAME]
Same general play and rules to the game Family Feud. Teams compete against one another trying to determine the most likely answers to general topics.
WEEK 3
FUTVOLLEY
[SPORT]
Foot Volley is a sport that combines Fútbol (soccer) with Volleyball. Similar play and rules as Volleyball, but with no hands.
IT'S IN THE BAG
[GAME]
This is a hilarious game that tests all your senses as you can use any of them except sight to determine what object is in the bag?
WEEK 4
RELAY RACE
[SPORT]
Each player and team's speed and agility is tested in our fun relay race/obstacle course.
WHAT'S MY NAME
[GAME]
Tests your team’s knowledge and ability to match up the corresponding item with it's maker.
WEEK 5
PICKLEBALL
[SPORT]
The second fastest sport is growing like hot cakes. But Atheon’s have been playing it well before. Described as 'Mini Tennis'.
THE MATCH GAME
[GAME]

HOW IT WORKS
SIGN UP
Sign up as a full team (5-12 players), a small group that wants to play on same team (2-4 players), or a free agent (single)
TEAMS
Team rosters are finalized and notifications sent asap. Note: 5-12 players per team.
TEAM CAPTAIN
Each team appoints a team captain. Note: A captain is assigned if needed.
DAY 1
Players meet their team and get their jersey. League manager goes over season info & rules.
EVENTS
Each week teams play both a sport and a game for optimal physical and mental wellness and fun.
SEASON
Each season is 7 weeks consisting of 16 events: 8 Sports + 8 Games, each played as 2-3 round tournaments.
SCORING
Scoring is tracked for both teams and individual players during each event.
WINNERS
Winning teams and players are determined based on overall points across all the events.
PARTY
Every season ends with a party, awards and accomplishments, plus a few surprises.
